What is Physiotherapy?
Helping you to help yourself
Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury and disease by enhancing the body's own natural healing mechanisms.
It is painless in most cases and no drugs are used.
Physiotherapy is a holistic approach to health care. This means that the physiotherapist does not only solve a particular problem, but a wider view of the person is adopted. This includes consideration of lifestyle, work, and leisure and how the condition can be prevented in the future.
In effect, Chartered Physiotherapists teach people to help themselves to better health.
So whatever the age or condition of a client, Chartered Physiotherapists are likely to be able to help.
When seeing a chartered physiotherapist, they will assess, diagnose and treat your problem using a variety of techniques, as well as give you guidance to help prevent the problem happening again.
