Attending a Pilates class
Prior to attending a course of pilates please download a questionnaire and fill in and send to Natural Health, 36 Wigmores North, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire AL8 6PH. Please also download the information on Pilates basic strengthening for you to become familiar with and practice prior to attending your first Pilates class.
It is important that I understand your medical history (including any general medical conditions) and, in particular, any history of pain. This will be really helpful in assessing which exercises may benefit you and which may be more problematic, therefore helping you get the most out of the class.
What to expect
The class will last an hour and will be led by an experienced physiotherapist familiar with a wide range of sporting, back, neck and joint problems, making it a safe environment in which to exercise.
The group numbers will be limited to 10, ensuring that your technique can be checked and exercises progressed to challenge you, whatever your fitness level.
What to bring
Exercise Mats will be provided, but if you would rather bring your own mat, please do. If you have problems with your neck, it may also be advisable to bring a medium sized towel which can be used to support your head and neck during parts of the class.
What to Wear
Although the class is active, it is unlikely that you will work up a sweat so wear clothes that you are comfortable to exercise in and which are not restrictive.
You will be exercising in socks, so footwear is not relevant.
